Very disappointing experience. I had seen Boricua Bakery featured by several influencers on Instagram, so I planned a day out with my kids and made the trip since we donβt live close by. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing like what I saw online. When I walked in, I let the woman behind the counter know it was my first time there. I expected a warm, welcoming experience, especially as a fellow Puerto Rican, but I didnβt feel welcomed at all. My kids were excited for empanadas, but I was told they didnβt have any. I also asked for the coquito latte I had seen online and was told they didnβt have that either. We stayed to eat, but the service felt very cold and unwelcoming. At one point, I even noticed a full pot of coffee sitting at the station, which made me question why certain items werenβt available. What really bothered me was the difference between the experience I saw influencers receiving online and the experience I had as a regular paying customer. It honestly felt like influencers get the red-carpet treatment while everyday customers donβt receive the same level of service. As a mom who planned this outing in advance, I left feeling disappointed and wishing we had go

Stopped by on a Saturday to pick up some food for a late lunch after seeing the Cherry Blossoms over at Branch Brook. Hubby ran down and grabbed a Cuban Sammie, and a pastrami Sammie. The Cuban was surpringly good! Sometimes, the pork tends to be try but that wasnβt the case here. The pastrami was something you could make yourself at home with some supermarket deli cold cuts. They also put yellow mustard on there, which I didnβt care for. The sandwiches are very big and each is probably enough to share amongst two people (we didnβt know this before ordering). We donβt live in the area so I doubt weβd come all the way back just for the Cuban, but if youβre in the area, itβs a good option.

The bacon egg and cheese sandwich comes with alot of bacon. I just wish they used like 1 or 2 more eggs to even out the sandwich cuz you barely taste the egg and by the end of the sandwich you're eating just bread. The price is a little high to at $15.

I needed a bakery to make an authentic Puerto Rican cake and this bakery did not disappoint. It was a last minute order and I wanted a simple but elegant cake. It was absolutely perfect and just what the birthday girl wanted. I also bought Puerto Rican treats that were equally as good. Wonderful staff and took me back to the island with all the yummy flavors.

This bakery is amazing- a little reminder of back home. The turkey sandwich I had was life changing, and I also got the pastelillos de guayaba y queso and one with Nutella... SO good. The servings are HUGE and the service is equally as impressive. The woman behind the counter was so nice and very helpful. The bakery has a nice sized seating area and is adorably decorated with lots of cute Puerto Rican trinkets and flags. And of course salsa was playing...just such a cute spot. Definitely planning my next trip back.
